WHA 2025

The tenth edition of the World Humor Awards marks an important milestone, recording a record participation that testifies to the growing international relevance of the event. Over three hundred artists from seventy countries around the world submitted their works in the two competition sections: cartoons and caricatures.

The extraordinary influx of works made the jury’s task particularly challenging, as they were called upon to evaluate hundreds of artistic contributions of the highest level to formulate the final ranking. A task that, as always, proved to be complex but exciting. The theme chosen for the cartoon section, “How the World Turns,” directly references the event’s logo and aims to celebrate the achievement of the tenth edition. A milestone that underscores the maturity acquired by the event in the international graphic humor landscape.

The caricature section successfully reprises the format of “six characters in search of an author,” inviting artists to interpret prominent figures from politics, sports, and entertainment. The award ceremonies unfold across three evocative locations in the territory, each with its own identity and prize:

Piazza Duomo in Fidenza hosts the Montanari Prize ceremony, the Guareschi Museum in Roncole Verdi is the venue for the Guareschi Prize and the special “Humor in Comics” award, while the gardens of the Art Hotel Pandos in Tabiano welcome the final competition awards ceremony.

A particularly appreciated moment of the event is the direct encounter between caricaturists and the public. For three consecutive afternoons, the artists will be available to visitors, creating live portraits in Fidenza and Tabiano, concluding in the picturesque medieval village of Vigoleno. As is traditional, the “Il Sorpasso” Club of Fidenza makes its vintage cars available to accompany the artists to the various destinations, adding a touch of elegance and nostalgia that pairs well with the spirit of the event.

The tenth edition of the World Humor Awards thus confirms itself not only as an important appointment for graphic humor enthusiasts, but also as a unique opportunity for the meeting of art, territory, and tradition.
